Summary of Intro Bag Valve Mask video:
When using a bag valve mask, the most important thing is to assure a good seal between the mask and patient's face. Without a good seal, oxygen will escape into the room and the patient will not get adequate airflow. Some bag valve masks need to be attached to a flow of oxygen. A rescuer can also use a valve mask, without a reservoir, using room air. Attach the bag valve mask to a face shield of the size appropriate for the patient. To assure a good seal, use the C-E technique. The mask is not pushed onto the patient; the head and face of the patient are drawn into the mask.
