Summary of training video: Adult AED Intro
When using an AED, there are two different procedures to follow: a witnessed cardiac arrest and an unwitnessed cardiac arrest. For a witnessed cardiac arrest, begin using the AED immediately. If the cardiac arrest is unwitnessed, perform CPR for 2 full minutes before applying the AED. Before using the AED, make sure the scene is safe. If combustible liquid or gas, standing water, or water touching the patient or rescuer is present, the scene is unsafe and the patient must be moved before using the AED.

“I am a nursing student (4th term of 6), currently certified until Jan 2005. However, the EVCC nursing program in Everet, WA requires recertification every year. I cannot register for classes until this is done and nobody is offering CPR over the holidays. I am so very glad this website is here to help me. Thank you very much!”
